About SS Maarten

• Maarten is a classic Dutch steam tugboat from the early 20th century, once used for harbor assistance and coastal towage. With its robust steel hull, upright wheelhouse, and towering smokestack, it embodies the working spirit of the steam era. The LEGO® model recreates this charm at 1:30 scale, measuring 75 cm in length and built with care and historical attention.

The Build

• Digitally designed and constructed in 2013, Maarten was KONAJRA’s tribute to Dutch maritime heritage—and one of the studio’s first refined historic vessel models. Later that same year, the finished build was presented as a gift to the LEGO® Community Engagement (CEE) Team, where it remains part of their internal collection.
