About VLI-8

• The VLI‑8 is a classic Dutch beam trawler designed for coastal and offshore fisheries using large spread beams and heavy-duty fishing gear. These vessels typically range from 30 to 46 m in length and are equipped with the latest navigational and fish-detection technology.
• KONAJRA’s LEGO® version, built in 2011, is the first ship model crafted by the studio and remains intact as a proud display piece in their office.

The Build

• Designed digitally via LDraw and constructed in early 2011, the model spans approximately 80 cm and includes exposed hull and deck interiors. Around a year later, it became a public favorite on Flickr, earning praise for its detail and realism.
